Welcome to Souly Ecolodge

OMAN: The oldest independent state in the Arab world, Oman is one of the most traditional countries in the Gulf region. According to a UNDP evaluation made in 2010, it is the most improved nation in the world in terms of development over the past 40 years.

Oman is strategically placed at the south-eastern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. The country is characterized by vast deserts and oases. Muscat, the seaport capital, is the seat of the Sultan Qaboos Big Mosque and of the ancient souk of Muttrah, located in front of the sea.

Country Area Code: +968

National currency: Omani Real (Omr)

SALALAH: Archaeology and culture in Salalah –

Capital of the Dhofar province, in Southern Oman, Salalah is the second largest city in Oman, and the biggest seaport in the Arab Peninsula.

In the north, the city is surrounded by a mountain range that turns green with spectacular waterfalls during the Khareef season (June-September). In the south, it has a long beautiful coast with white sand.

From Salalah, you can easily start a trip to visit the ‘’Frankincens Road’’, with beautiful old trees and fascinating panoramas. In the ancient times it was the meeting point of different cultures coming from the Far East and West. In the heart of the UNESCO world heritage historical site of Al Baleed, you can visit the Museum of the Land of Frankincens.

About 50 kilometers from Salalah you can stop at the breathtaking Mughsail geyser with its 4-meter-high stream beams, or if you’d rather stay nearby you can go shopping in the outskirts of Salalah in the souq of Al Husn and Al Haffa.

one of the first ecolodges in Oman, our lodge is located on the Indian Ocean (Oman Gulf), in a spectacular setting between Taqa and Salalah, just meters away from a fresh water creek called “Khour Souly”, where camels, foxes, and birds come to drink.

The landscape is unique: you will be left speechless by the beautiful coast lines with incredible sunrises and sunsets

The Souly Lodge offers the perfect location to take a break from everyday life in a calm and natural environment. Relax and watch the local wildlife, like the camels on their daily walk to Khour Souly or the dolphins playing near the coast. All throughout the year, thousand of varieties of birds fly around the bungalows, nest in the palm trees nearby and can be spotted flying and fishing in the waves. Enjoy the endless natural beaches, go for a swim in crystal clear waters or for a long walk on white sands. During sardine-fishing season you can also watch the local fishermen at work.

We originally built Souly Camp as a place for our guests to enjoy the spirit of the Bedouin life and escape from civilization for a day or an evening.
Three traditional Bedouin tents, comfortably furnished with carpets and poufs, are situated around a campfire place. We can host up to 50 guests here, which makes it a perfect place for a private family event or a special company excursion.
We invite you to join us for a magical evening around the campfire.
After watching the spectacular sunset you can enjoy the starlit sky while listening to Arabic guitar (‘’oud’’) music and songs.
We offer campfire dinner three times a week. (Please book in advance)
